DesigningCitiesForeveryone.
A comprehensive AI-assisted framework for multisensory urban design. Architecture should transform the built world from functional barriers into inviting, experiential spaces — this platform translates that philosophy into measurable indicators through a performance-based, credit-oriented scoring system.

What is the IUX Design Framework?
The IUX Design Framework — also called the Inclusive Urban Experience Design Framework — is a performance-based, credit-oriented certification standard for accessible public spaces, streetscapes, parks, plazas, and building interiors. Developed by Ahmed Mahmoud, the IUX Framework translates the principles of universal design, DIN 18040-3, the European Accessibility Act (EAA), and the UN CRPD into 30 measurable design credits scored from 0 to 45 points.
IUX Design Standards
The IUX standards define 5 mandatory prerequisites covering legal accessibility compliance, safety, barrier-free design, stamina baseline, and site readability. All five must pass before credit evaluation begins.
IUX Evaluation — 30 Credits
30 credits across five categories: Sensory Integration, Cognitive Usability, Affective Comfort, Social Adaptation, and Time Adaptation. Each credit targets a specific dimension of inclusive urban experience.
IUX Certification Tiers
Projects scoring 18–26 pts earn Bronze, 27–33 pts Silver, 34–40 pts Gold, and 41–45 pts Platinum. The IUX AI evaluator generates a scored PDF report with category breakdowns and improvement recommendations.
IUX AI Design Assistant
The IUX AI assistant answers architecture and accessibility questions grounded in the IUX Framework, DIN 18040-3, the EAA, and the UN CRPD. It never hallucinates — if it doesn't know, it says so.
Who uses the IUX Design Lab?
Landscape architects, urban designers, and accessibility consultants use IUX Design Lab to evaluate projects against the IUX Framework before submission. Researchers studying inclusive urbanism reference the IUX scoring rubric to compare design proposals across physical and vision impairment dimensions. The platform is free to use — no account required.
